The existing competence profiles of drivers, planners and warehouse workers are almost fifteen years old and need to be reviewed. This study provides input for this review. The final formulation and construction of the renewed competence profiles will be determined by experts of the sectoral instute Transport and Logistics (Sectorinstituut Transport en Logistiek, STL).
For all three professions mentioned above, the core activities have largely stayed the same. However, some changes do occur within these activities. These changes arise from technological developments. Increasing customer demands and regulation play a role as well. For drivers, these changes imply that their autonomy is limited. For planners and warehouse workers, new professions have developed, e.g. tactical transport planners and proces operators supervising the robotization in the warehouse.
