New publication: Structure of provincial labour market policy

In June 2016, the provincial council of North Brabant adopted the "Towards a resilient labour market" programme. SEOR has evaluated the structure of the provincial labour market policy. The central question of this evaluation was: how effective and efficient is the structure of the labour market policy of the province of North Brabant in the period 2016-2019?

The evaluation shows that the structure used for the labour market policy of the province works effectively. The effectiveness could increase even further by determining which areas to focus on (the so-called ontwikkellijnen) together with the relevant policy field and re-evaluating these focus areas regularly. Furthermore, involving universities of applied sciences (hogescholen) and universities in the implementation of the labour market policy would improve the effectiveness. The efficiency of the labour market policy could be increased by focusing on those areas in which the province can make a difference, making choices and rethinking the roles and goals of the networks and parties involved in the implementation (the so-called sporen).
